High-performance carbon black masterbatches for UV protection, deep black aesthetics, and electrical conductivity — manufactured up to 50% carbon black loading for PE and PP applications.
Black Masterbatch is a highly concentrated dispersion of carbon black pigment in a PE or PP carrier resin. It is one of the most technically demanding masterbatches to manufacture correctly — the quality of carbon black dispersion directly determines UV protection efficacy, jetness, and mechanical performance of the finished part.
At Stylex International, we manufacture Black Masterbatch with carbon black loadings from 20% up to an industry-leading 50% — available in both furnace black grades for UV shielding and high-jetness grades for aesthetic applications. All grades are engineered for consistent, speck-free dispersion with minimal gels.
Our Black MB range covers pipe-grade, film-grade, and injection moulding-grade formulations — each optimised for the specific rheology, dispersion, and UV performance requirements of that process.
Each grade is formulated for a specific end-use — from general colouring to maximum UV shielding in pipe and film applications.
Pipe-grade Black MB ensures the mandatory 2–2.5% carbon black content in HDPE pressure pipes — providing the UV shielding required for 50+ year service life in outdoor and buried installations.
Black PE mulch films rely on carbon black MB for UV stability, light blocking to suppress weed growth, and soil temperature regulation — balancing performance with processing ease.
HDPE geomembranes for pond lining, landfill containment, and mining tailings use high-loading Black MB to achieve the carbon black content and dispersion quality required for 30+ year outdoor service life.
HDPE and MDPE electrical conduits and cable protection ducts use Black MB for UV shielding in direct-buried and above-ground installations — maintaining flexibility and impact resistance.
PP and HDPE automotive parts, industrial containers, crates, and consumer goods use standard Black MB for deep jet black aesthetics with excellent gloss and speck-free surface finish.
Black outer layers of three-layer silage films use carbon black MB for UV protection and total light exclusion — essential for preserving silage quality and preventing microbial growth during outdoor storage.
PP bumpers, mirror housings, mud flaps, and underbody shields use UV-stable Black MB to maintain colour, gloss, and surface integrity under prolonged outdoor exposure and weathering.
Thin-wall LLDPE drip irrigation laterals require precisely loaded Black MB to achieve full UV shielding in the 0.3–0.9mm wall thickness — extending service life to 3–7 seasons under direct sunlight.
Need a specific carbon black loading, UV performance grade, or pipe-compliant formulation? Our team will recommend the right Black MB and can arrange samples for your production trials.
